Come Visit Us!

We’re glad you have been visiting our website and are interested in joining us for a service!

If you’ve never visited our church before, you no doubt have questions. We’ll try to answer some of them right here.

What type of Church are you?

We are an independent Baptist church.

Independent means we are not part of a denominational group. That means we are not Southern Baptist, American Baptist, etc. Being independent, that means that we make all our church’s decisions and not an outside group of people. That also means we choose our own pastor.

We are an independent Baptist church.

There are several “Baptist Distinctives” that define who we are as Baptists. Most importantly, the Bible defines what we believe. It is the final Authority and is more important than tradition and creed.

What are each of the services like?

Sunday School: Our Sunday School classes are a time of Bible instruction and teaching. The goal is to understand God’s Word better and be reminded of its truths. It begins at 10:00 a.m. and lasts approximately one hour. We have classes for Elementary School, Jr. High School, High School, and Adults.

Morning Worship service: Our morning worship service is a time of singing and Bible preaching. This service begins at 11:00 a.m. and lasts approximately one hour. Each Sunday, we have a special song sung by one or more of our members.

Evening Worship service: For the evening service, we meet in the small auditorium on the ground level. This service begins at 6:00 p.m. and also lasts about one hour. It is a time of singing and Bible preaching.

Wednesday Bible Study: Our Wednesday evening Bible Study begins at 7:00 p.m. and lasts about one hour. It is a time of singing, prayer, and Bible study.

What type of clothes do people usually wear to your services?

We do not have a dress code. We want to welcome you and are simply glad you’ve chosen to be with us! We also believe that when we come to church, we are coming before our Maker and God (Matthew 18:20), Who is worthy of our best.

What type of clothes does the preacher wear?

The preacher is almost always in a tie and suit jacket.

What type of music will I find in the service?

Our congregational singing is from a hymnbook. We are both traditional and conservative in the choice of hymns and choruses we sing.

Our congregational singing is accompanied exclusively by piano and organ. Our musical specials are usually accompanied by the piano.

What Bible version do you use?

In all our services, only the King James Version is preached and taught from. We believe God preserved His Word for us today in the KJV for English-speaking people. If you don’t have a KJV Bible, we have some available for you to use.

Regardless of what version you own, we’d be just as happy to have you visit!

Still have questions?

Our beliefs can be found in much greater detail on our Beliefs page.

If you still have questions for us, we’d be happy to answer them either by email or phone – (586) 731-3311.

We look forward to meeting you next Sunday morning!
